Privacy Policy
Plain-language summary
- Brazuca is a community app for Brazilians living in the United States: posts, events, jobs, businesses and rooms, organized by state and city.
- We collect what you give us to run an account and show local content: your email, name, optional photo, and state/city/neighborhood.
- Anything you post is visible to other signed-in members, including contact details you choose to add.
- Optional device location is used only to sort businesses by distance and stays on your device.
- We do not run ads, sell data, or use analytics or tracking SDKs.
Who we are
Brazuca ("Brazuca," "we," "us") is a mobile app that helps Brazilians living in the United States connect locally through community posts, events, job listings, a business directory, and room/accommodation listings organized by state, city and neighborhood.
This policy explains what information the app collects, why, who can see it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Brazuca iOS and Android apps and covers every screen inside them.
Brazuca is developed and operated by Rafael Muniz.
Information we collect
We collect information in three ways: what you provide when you create an account, what you provide when you use the app's features, and a small amount your device provides with your permission.

Content you create
Community posts, events, job listings, business listings, and room/accommodation listings, including any title, description, price, category, photos, and contact details you choose to add.
Device location (optional, on-device only)
If you allow it, we read your device's GPS location to sort the business directory by Nearest. This calculation happens entirely on your device; your coordinates are not sent to or stored on our servers. Declining this permission simply disables the Nearest sort.
What we don't collect
Advertising identifiers; analytics or tracking SDK data; push notification tokens; contacts or SMS; precise location on our servers; or payment information.
How we use it
- Run your account: sign you in, remember your settings and language, and let you edit your profile or location.
- Show relevant content: filter posts, events, jobs, businesses and rooms to your chosen location, or Everywhere.
- Let the community work: publish what you post so other members can see and respond to it.
- Keep listings genuine: every post, event, job, business and room listing is reviewed by a volunteer admin before it goes live.
- Tell you what happened: show in-app notifications when your listing is approved, rejected, liked, or commented on. We do not send push notifications to your lock screen.
Third parties we use
We keep this list short on purpose: these are the only outside services Brazuca talks to.

If you sign in with Google or Microsoft, that provider's own privacy policy also applies to your use of their sign-in service.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active, so your listings and profile stay usable. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your profile, photos and listings from our systems, other than records we're required to keep for legal or fraud-prevention purposes.
Your choices
- Edit your profile or location anytime from Profile → Settings inside the app.
- Delete an individual listing from My Listings.
- Turn off device location at any time in your phone's system settings.
- Delete your account by emailing us at the address below. We aim to complete deletion requests within 30 days.
If you're a California resident: we don't sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, so there is nothing to opt out of beyond the deletion request above.
Children's privacy
Brazuca is intended for adults coordinating housing, jobs, and community life, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
Security
Access to your data is enforced at the database level: our backend restricts every request so a member can only read their own private data plus community content that's already approved and public. Passwords are hashed by our authentication provider and are never visible to us. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we design for the principle of least access.
Where your data lives
Brazuca is built for Brazilians living in the United States, and our servers are located in the United States. If you use the app from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to how we handle your information, we'll update the effective date above and, where the change is significant, let you know inside the app. Continuing to use Brazuca after a change means you accept the updated policy.
